Srinagar: Police in Kulgam have arrested two drug peddlers and recovered contraband substances from their possession, a police spokesperson informed Tuesday.
He said during patrolling at village Nipora, police intercepted a vehicle (JK03B-5292) with two persons onboard. During its search, police recovered 7.3 Kgs of poppy straw-like contraband substance concealed in a nylon bag.
Shafat Ahmad Khanday, son of Mushtaq Ahmad Khanday, resident of Damjan, and Jora Singh, son of Darshan Singh, resident of Dholan Ludhiana, Punjab, travelling in the vehicle were arrested and vehicle seized while a case was registered for further investigation.
