Chief Secretary felicitates Int’l Yoga Day contest winners

SRINAGAR: Chief Secretary, Atal Dulloo, today felicitated the winners of different contests launched on the eve of International Yoga Day here by the Information Technology (IT) Department.

Those present includes Commissioner Secretary, IT; SIO, NIC; Deputy Commissioner, Jammu/Udhampur/Reasi besides other concerned officers along with the winners of these contests either physically or virtually through video conferencing.

While handing over the appreciation certificates and prize amounts to the winners, the Chief Secretary congratulated them on their success. He encouraged them to enhance their skills by participating in such competitions. He asked them to excel both in curricular and extra-curricular activities as well to be successful in life.

On the occasion he inaugurated 12 online services of Revenue and Agriculture Production Departments devised by the Deputy Commissioners of Jammu and Reasi. These services pertain to seeking several permissions for holding gatherings or political/ social/ cultural events besides applying for a phytosanitary certificate and checking quality of honey.

While assessing the performance of the IT Department , the Chief Secretary emphasised on developing end to end solutions for IT based services. He asked for full integration of different platforms currently in use by public so that the availability of all services, giving of feedback, making appeals by public and using it across different gadgets is done at ease.

Dulloo also enjoined upon the Department to ensure that at least one Common Services Centre (CSC) is available in a village. He asked for making critical analysis of the data emanating from these CSCs about their functioning and transactions done each day.

He made out that this data would give a fair idea about the least functioning CSCs or those overburdened and requiring additional points to serve people better. He also advised to look into the causes of poorly performing CSCs for their early redressal.

Commissioner Secretary, IT, Prerna Puri, while briefing the meeting about the Yoga Day contests revealed that a total of around 5700 entries were received by the Department in the competitions of Poster Making, Essay Writing, Yoga Doodle Challenge and Yoga Storytelling.

She further added that the winning prizes in each of the challenge constituted an appreciation certificate and cash award of Rs 10,000 as Ist prize, Rs 8,000 (2nd prize) and Rs 5000 (3rd Prize) given by the Department.

Regarding the performance of the Department the Commissioner Secretary gave out that a number of new offices and users have been onboarded on the e-office for their efficient functioning. She also made out that dozens of offline/online training sessions had been held for the capacity building of users.

It was further detailed out that the Department had deployed honey pots at State Data Centre for enhanced cyber security and is envisaging to assist the Departments to do the same at their end. It was added that 78 inactive sites had been removed and 140 departmental websites audited so far.

With respect to the functioning of CSCs, it was divulged that rates for services offered by them had been notified by the Department besides carrying out regular inspections to implement the same.

It was additionally given out that since April, 677 new CSCs had been opened in the UT with average footfall of CSC reaching to 35-40 per day. Some 28000 appointments were closed through Digidost by providing services at the doorsteps of people through this CSC network across the UT.

As far as the quality assurance of services is concerned, the meeting wad apprised that all the 1140 online services are integrated with AQS for receiving feedback about their quality along with 501 backed with Rapid Assessment System (RAS) and 391 with Auto Appeal System (AAS) to ensure their timely delivery to the citizens.

About the future targets, it was divulged that the Department envisages to establish the Security Operations Centre with the assistance of GoI. It also targets developing end to end digitization of 50 high volume services this year and development of unified platform for centralized authentication, feedback, suo-motto delivery and onboarding G2C services on the fly for the ease and aid of the citizens of J&K.
