DEA Sgr organizes of awareness and voter registration progs, camps

SRINAGAR: To enhance voter awareness and encourage all eligible Voters to get registered in the Electoral Roll, the District Election Authority Srinagar organised scores of Electoral Awareness & Voter Registration programmes/Camps in different Educational Institutions and other public places of the District.

The Electoral Awareness & Voter Registration programmes/Camps were held on the directions of the District Election Officer (DEO) Srinagar, Dr Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat, as a part of 2nd Special Summary Revision-2024 notified by the Election Commission of India(ECI) and Chief Electoral Office J&K to facilitate the new eligible electors having attained the age of 18 years or above as on July 01, 2024.

Throughout these campaigns, various programs were conducted to educate the general public on the importance of voting and the electoral process.

These sessions provided valuable information on voter registration procedures, eligibility criteria, and the significance of participating in elections.

The Experts in these sessions emphasized the importance of every eligible citizen’s participation in the democratic process and urge that informed and inclusive voters are essential for a robust democracy.

The programs saw enthusiastic participation from local communities, with a noticeable number of students and young voters.

The Booth Level Officer also actively participated in the awareness program and facilitated to make online registration of eligible voters.
