Srinagar: A BSF soldier posted at NITI post at Tangdhar in north Kashmir’s Kupwara shot himself dead with his service rifle, officials said Saturday.
Quoting officials, news agency KNC reported that the BSF soldier identified as GD Ram Kumar of 89 battalion, posted at FDL NITI Post Tandghar in Kupwara, shot himself with his service rifle resulting in his on-spot death.
The body of Kumar was shifted to Sub District Hospital (SDH) Tangdhar for medico-legal formalities even as police have started proceedings under section 194 BNSS.
