Kashmir Women Cricket League 2024, season II, kicks off at Sher-I-Kashmir Cricket Stadium

Srinagar, July 31: The Kashmir Women Cricket League 2024, organized by 31 Sub Area under the aegis of Chinar Corps, commenced today at the iconic Sher-I-Kashmir Cricket Stadium.

The opening ceremony, graced by Chief Guest, GOC, 31 Sub Area, and Guest of Honour, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, set the tone for the tournament. Participants were encouraged to showcase their skills and sportsmanship. The coveted trophy was unveiled, marking the beginning of the tournament.

Twelve teams from across Kashmir, comprising 160 talented women cricketers, will compete for the top spot in the league, scheduled from August 1st to 8th. The event aims to promote women’s cricket in the region, fostering a spirit of competition and camaraderie.

By supporting and encouraging women in sports, the Army aims to promote gender equality, build confidence, and create opportunities for women to excel. This tournament is a shining example of the Army’s dedication to women empowerment and its efforts to bring about positive change in society.

The league is being organized in collaboration with Jammu & Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA), Ujala Cygnus chain of Hospitals, and Hope Alive NGO.
