DLSA Srinagar organizes prog for Senior Citizens at Ahata Waqar

SRINAGAR: District Legal Services Authority, Srinagar (DSLSA) organized a special performance and cultural event dedicated to senior citizens at Ahata Waqar today.

The event, was held under the guidance of Jawad Ahmed, Chairman DLSA (PDJ), Srinagar, and was aimed to provide a recreational and engaging experience for our elders, celebrating their contributions and fostering intergenerational connections.

Students from Candid Higher Secondary School showcased their artistic skills through a variety of performances, including music, drama, and other cultural activities.

The event featured distinguished guests such as Shabir Mujahid, Zeenat Nisar, Vice Principal of Higher Secondary School Chanapoora, Sunita, Tehsil Social Welfare Officer South, Syed Muhammad Yousuf Aajiz, who also released his book “Hasil e Hayaat” during the occasion; Farooq Ahmed, Principal of Candid Higher Secondary School & officials and Para Legal Volunteers of District Legal Services Authority Srinagar.

The witnessed performances including Qawwali and a skit by the students. A prize distribution ceremony was held to honor the students for their beautiful performances.

The event was deeply appreciated by all attendees, especially the senior citizens of Ahata Waqar, who expressed their gratitude to the staff for organizing such a meaningful event.

The participants also acknowledged the efforts of the DLSA, Srinagar for consistently taking initiatives for the social, mental, and physical well-being of senior citizens.

They also appreciated the valuable contributions of the Directorate of Health Department and the Directorate of Social Welfare Department.

The occasion provided a delightful experience for the elders but also highlighted the importance of fostering connections between generations. It underscored the community’s dedication to honoring and supporting its senior members, ensuring they feel valued and included.
