Srinagar: A non-local labourer drowned in River Jhelum while taking a bath in the Ladoora Sopore area of north Kashmir Baramulla district on Friday.

An official said that one non-local  labourer drowned into the river, following which a rescue operation was started by locals, police and SDRF. (KS)

Meanwhile, the body of a boy who had drowned in the river on Wednesday has been recovered.

An official said that the body of Hazim Nisar, son of Nisar Ahmad Dar, resident of Jalsheeri, who had drowned while taking bath in river Jhelum in old town Baramulla yesterday, was recovered today. (KS)
