Srinagar: Apni Party President Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari on Saturday conducted a day-long visit to the Uri constituency in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district. During his visit, he presided over a series of meetings with party leaders and senior workers.

These crucial meetings aimed to gauge the present political scenario in the constituency and assess the performance of the local leadership and grassroots-level cadre.

On this occasion, the local leadership shared their feedback and suggestions on how to further strengthen the party in the constituency. They also outlined a strategy to enhance public outreach in preparation for the upcoming polls.

During the party president’s visit to various areas in the constituency, a large number of political activists joined the party. He warmly welcomed these new members into the party fold.

Speaking on these occasions, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari applauded the local leadership and senior workers for their dedication to strengthening the party at the grassroots level in the constituency. However, he urged his colleagues to intensify their political and public outreach activities to deepen their connection with the people across Uri.

He assured the people that if the Apni Party receives a public mandate in the upcoming elections, it will work to ensure the prosperity and well-being of this border region.

He said, “We have a vision for developing infrastructure and creating employment opportunities for the local youth in Uri. There is much to be done for the people of Uri. We will ensure that Uri’s youth receive priority in Army and Police recruitment. We will also ensure that the residents of Uri have priority access to the electricity produced in Uri.”

Expressing his concern over the complaints that many people belonging to the Pahari community in Uri are being denied reservation certificates.

He said, “We will raise this issue at the highest level to ensure justice for everyone. Every Pahari-speaking resident of Uri must be granted the required reservation certificate. We will not tolerate any injustice. Only democratically elected representatives at the grassroots level should decide who qualifies for reservation and who does not. This is how democracies work.”

During the day-long activities, a workers’ convention was held in Urnbhahav Uri, and several joining programmes were conducted in which political activists and workers from Block Uri, Paranpillan, Boniyar, Nambla, Balakote and other areas joined Apni Party in the presence of the party president Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari.
