Srinagar: A youth from Sopore drowned in a Lidder stream in Pahalgam area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Monday.
An official said that a 21-years-old Basit Ahmad Bhat, son of Ghulam Rasool Bhat of Sopore drowned in Lidder stream near Langalbal Pahalgam while bathing.
He said that he was rescued by the NDRF team and was taken to the Sub-district Hospital Pahalgam where he succumbed.
Police have registered a case in this regard. (KS)
