10-day Summer Coaching Camp organized by J&K Sports Council concludes

SRINAGAR: The 10-day Summer Coaching Camp, organized by the J&K Sports Council in the disciplines of Rugby, Hockey, Gymnastics and Archery concluded successfully at the Multi Sports Complex, Polo Ground, Srinagar.

The closing ceremony was attended by the Secretary, J&K Sports Council, along with the Divisional Sports Officer (Kashmir), Divisional Sports Officer (Central), and other officials.

The camp, which commenced on July 8, 2024, saw the participation of approximately 150 athletes who were selected through open selection trials. These athletes underwent rigorous daily training sessions conducted by expert coaches from the J&K Sports Council. The atmosphere was filled with enthusiasm as athletes showcased their skills and growth at the conclusion of their training.

During the closing ceremony, Secretary, J&K Sports Council, Nuzhat Gull emphasized the primary goal of organizing these coaching camps during the school summer vacation is to provide aspiring students from every corner of J&K the opportunity to train at Government sports facilities.

These camps are designed to improve physical fitness, develop skills and techniques, enhance mental capabilities, build confidence, and prepare our athletes for national and international competitions, she stated.

In addition to the closing remarks, the Khelo India Centre Taekwondo trainees were presented with playing kits by the Secretary, Sports Council, further encouraging young athletes in their sporting endeavors.
