The Manifesto Committee convened today to meticulously analyze the plethora of suggestions received from the public regarding the manifesto. Thousands of emails, messages, and letters flooded in and were thoroughly reviewed by the committee.

The committee extended its heartfelt gratitude to the public for their active participation, emphasizing that every contribution is valued and taken seriously, assuring all viable suggestions will be integrated into the final document. Delving into various issues across different sectors, the committee engaged in an intensive eight-hour discussion.

Expressing grave concerns and reservations about the amendments to the Reorganisation Act of 2019, the committee reaffirms its unwavering commitment to vigorously pursue the restoration of Jammu and Kashmir’s special status in its original form.

Furthermore, the committee voiced apprehensions regarding the challenges confronting Kashmir’s horticulture industry, particularly the apple sector, and pledged unwavering support to orchardists in their ongoing protests. The members also urged the LG administration to alleviate the concerns of the fruit growers and transporters by giving priority to the vehicles carrying fruits and vegetables on the National Highway.

Considering the dire economic situation of the people in Jammu and Kashmir, with a majority of the Valley’s population relying on the fruit industry for their livelihood, authorities must guarantee the seamless passage of these trucks, the members declared.

In attendance were Shammi Oberoi, MP Mian Altaf Ahmad, Justice (retd) Hasnain Masoodi, Ajay Kumar Sadhotra, Nasir Aslam Wani, Tanvir Sadiq, MY Taing, Rattan Lal Gupta, Sharifuddin Shariq, Khalid Najeeb Suhrawardy, Adv Muzaffar Ahmad Khan, Babu Ram Paul, Adv Showkat Ahmad Mir.
