Srinagar: Army on Sunday said three unidentified terrorists were killed as its troops foiled an infiltration bid along the Line of Control (LoC) in Keran sector of north Kashmir.
The army said the anti-infiltration operation was going on till last reports.
“03x Terrorists have been eliminated in the ongoing anti-infiltration operation on the #LoC in Keran Sector, alongwith recovery of weapons and other war-like stores,” Srinagar-based Chinar Corps of the Army posted on X.
The fresh infiltration bid has come in the backdrop of several encounters and terrorist attacks in Jammu region.
The Police and other security agencies, including Army, have been holding series of security meetings to assess the situation and come up with a viable response.
“As the situation in Jammu and Kashmir has almost returned to normal, forces inimical to peace are trying to play dirty”, say some defence experts suggesting that in the backdrop of lack of support from mainland Kashmir, the terrorists and their handlers are focussing on Jammu areas and areas close to Line of Control.
