Srinagar: A man lost his life while seven others were injured in a road accident in Keran area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district Friday.
An official said that a vehicle (HR 26BY 0374) carrying eight people turned turtle in Keran, news agency Kashmir Scroll reported.
It said the injured persons were shifted to hospital from where few were shifted to Srinagar for advanced treatment.
Among the injured, one Farid Ahmad, a teacher by profession, succumbed to injuries at SKIMS Soura while his father, who has also received critical injuries, is in serious condition.
Police have taken cognizance and started an investigation.
Separately two persons, including a child died and six others were injured after a vehicle they were travelling in met with an accident on Mughal Road on Friday.
Official sources said that a Bolero vehicle (JK02DJ-5386) fell into a gorge near Panar area, resulting in injuries to eight people, all residents of Darhal Rajouri, GNS reported.
Later, locals and a police party reached the spot and moved the injured including five children to a hospital who were subsequently shifted to GMC Rajouri. Two of the injured later died.
Police confirmed the death of two people including a child in the accident and said that the injured are under treatment. A case has been registered in this regard.
