Srinagar: The Indian Army proudly announces the successful completion of a motorcycle expedition to commemorate the Rajat Jayanti of Kargil Vijay Diwas. This expedition was organized as a prelude to the celebrations of Kargil Vijay Diwas’ 25th anniversary.
Indian Army personnel from across the nation embarked on this journey to honor the valor of our brave soldiers. The expedition aimed to pay homage to Veer Naris, Kargil awardees, and veterans, with several events organized at various locations along the entire route.
Motorcycle teams from different regions of the country converged at the National War Memorial in New Delhi. They were flagged off by the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) on two separate routes to Dras. One route led from New Delhi through Jammu via Zojila to Dras, while the other passed through Chandigarh, Nathu La, and Leh before reaching Dras.
The highlight of the expedition was the Flagging-In ceremony at the Kargil War Memorial. Here, the teams were honored by the distinguished Chief Guest, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Northern Command. This event served as a tribute to the Kargil War heroes and included interactions with war veterans and Veer Naris.
This expedition not only commemorated the sacrifices of our brave soldiers but also symbolized the spirit of unity and resilience of the Indian Army.
