Dir Agriculture Kashmir visits SM Farm Padgampora

ANANTNAG:  Director Agriculture Kashmir Chowdhury Mohammad Iqbal today visited Seed Multiplication Farm Padgampora Anantnag and took stock of the Progress on the implementation of different programs in the Farm.

He visited different sections of the Farm and reviewed the various interventions adopted there.

Speaking on the occasion Dir Agriculture said that the departmental farms are the assets of the department and have an inevitable role to play amid the changing global agriculture scenario.

Our immediate goal is to achieve the self-reliance in seed requirement of different Agricultural crops in the region and the departmental seed Multiplication Farms are the main resources to reach this ambitious goal he added.

The director asked the concerned officers/the technical experts to work on a mission mode so that all the set targets for the current year could be reached successfully.

Earlier, he visited different areas of the Anantnag and Pulwama districts and took stock of the agriculture scenario and inspected different field crops.

He held meetings with the farmers at many places and received feedback regarding the different centrally sponsored schemes CSS, flagship programmes run by the department. He asked farmers to avail benefits under different projects of holistic agriculture development program HADP.

He assured them of every possible technical support during the cultivation of different agricultural crops.

Director of Agriculture was accompanied by some senior officers of the department.
