Kahara which lies along the Kalgoni river, is a calm and beautiful area surrounded by villages like Indloo and Joura Kalan. It was once part of Thathri tehsil but gained status as a separate tehsil in 2007.
Within this tehsil lies a beautiful meadow called Dabi Dhar, a special meadow in Kahara, is tucked between tall cliffs, 13 kilometres from Thathri. It is waiting to be discovered, offering a peaceful escape for nature lovers.
The road to Dabi Dhar is an adventure, winding through scenic landscapes that showcase the natural beauty of the region. The untouched charm of Dabi Dhar, surrounded by tall cliffs, creates a captivating view, attracting visitors seeking tranquillity.
Despite its charming view, Dabi Dhar is yet to be fully explored by tourism. Locals believe it has great tourism potential and should be included in the State tourism department. This could lead to better infrastructure, making Dhar more accessible while preserving its natural beauty.
Kahara is a central hub for nearby villages, connected by well-maintained rural roads like Kahara–Jai Road, Kahara–Tanta Road, and Kahara–Kansoo Road. This not only improves accessibility but also boosts economic activities in the region.
The majority of Kahara’s population relies on farming, with about 90% directly or indirectly involved in agriculture. The fertile land and favourable climate make farming the backbone of the community, providing the primary source of livelihood.
