JAMMU: The District administration Jammu has termed the news published in a section of press alleging unfairness in the issuance of tokens for the Amarnath Yatra as baseless. The report also mentioned that police had to use force to control the protesting crowd, which is incorrect.

“A definite number of tokens for the Amarnath Yatra are issued daily on a first-come, first-serve basis and the district administration is closely monitoring the process to ensure fairness and transparency. There is no scope for malpractice or favouritism. The presence of police personnel is solely for crowd management and to prevent any untoward incidents,” it said.

To allay other misinformation from the social media, it is also informed that a water tanker is placed near Saraswati Dham and water bottles are also provided at regular intervals to devotees in queues. The district administration regrets any inconvenience and requests that it be reported to the nearest government official the next time.

To address sanitation needs, a sufficient number of urinals have been installed at the Rail Head Complex near Saraswati Dham, along with a mobile toilet stationed in front of Saraswati Dham across the road.
