Srinagar: Police have arrested two drug peddlers in Baramulla and Kulgam and recovered contraband substance from their possession, a police spokesperson informed Tuesday.
He said one Mohammad Qasim Bala, son of Ghulam Mohammad, resident of Bagh-e-Islam, Old Town Baramulla, was arrested after 10 grams of contraband heroin-like substance was recovered from his possession.
In Kulgam, police intercepted a vehicle (JK03J-5429) driven by one Aadil Rashid, son of Abdul Rashid Makroo of Rahpora, Khudwani, at Alstop, and recovered 7.4 kgs of poppy straw-like contraband substance from it. Rashid has been arrested and vehicle seized.
Cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at respective police stations for further investigations, police said.
