Commr FDA inaugurates Registration/License Mela at Ganderbal

GANDERBAL: Commissioner FDA, Hashmat Ali Yatto inaugurated the License/Registration Mela and also chaired an interactive meeting with the various FBO Associations in District Ganderbal.

More than a hundred FBOs participated in the event.

The meeting was also attended by the team constituted including Joint Commissioner of Food Safety, Sanjeev Kumar; Deputy Commissioner of Food Safety ICLC Kashmir, Shagoofa Jalal; State Nodal Officer, Firdous Ahmad and Designated Officers from Food Safety of district Ganderbal.

Various stalls were installed by the FBOs to showcase indigenous products, fortified foods etc to the consumers and attendees.

Deliberations were held on various issues raised by the representatives of the Food Business Operators including Manufacturers, Retailers, Hotel and Restaurants Associations etc.

An open question-answer session was also held to respond to the queries of FBOs and consumers.

The FBOs were also informed about the latest amendments made in the FSS Act, 2006 including the provision of “Tatkal License/Registration” and other Rules and Regulations made thereunder and were advised to strictly adhere to the guidelines and advisories so issued.

The commissioner FDA stressed on the role of FBOs as major stakeholders in the implementation of the provisions of the regulations. He reiterated that our priority is to ensure safe and wholesome food to the consumers, however, there is a need for collaboration of all the stakeholders to accomplish the objectives.

The commissioner presented 44 Licenses and Registrations to the applicant FBOs who participated in the License/Registration Mela.
