JKSC Football Academy Trainee Maroof Shafi selected for FIFA-AIFF Academy Trials

Bhubaneswar (Odisha): In a recent communication to various State and Union Territories, the All India Football Federation (AIFF) announced that the trials for the prestigious FIFA-AIFF Academy will take place at the Odisha Football Academy, located at the 7th Battalion, Gajapati Nagar, Bhubaneswar.

The trials are scheduled from June 22 to June 25, 2024. Selected players are instructed to report to the venue on June 21, 2024.

Among the selected players is Maroof Shafi, a promising trainee from the J&K Sports Council (JKSC) Football Academy. Maroof, who hails from the Budgam District, was chosen for the trials based on his exceptional performance on the field. His selection is a significant achievement, reflecting his talent, hard work, and dedication to the sport of football.

Ms. Nuzhat Gul, Secretary of JKSC, congratulated Maroof on this noteworthy accomplishment. “Maroof’s selection for the FIFA-AIFF Academy Trials in Bhubaneswar is a testament to his talent and commitment,” she remarked. “After graduating from SCFA, Maroof has continued to excel and has been associated with various other teams, demonstrating his ongoing development and potential in football.”

The trials are part of an ongoing effort by AIFF and FIFA to identify and nurture young football talent across India, offering them the opportunity to advance to higher levels of the sport. Maroof’s inclusion in these trials marks a significant milestone in his budding career and brings pride to the J&K Sports Council and his home district of Budgam.
