DLSA Sgr organises plantation drive in commemoration of ‘World Environment Week’

SRINAGAR: As part of a series of events and in commemoration of ‘World Environment Week’, the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Srinagar under the aegis of J&K Legal Services Authority and in collaboration with NGO Kashmir Concern today organized a plantation drive under the chairmanship of Jawad Ahmed, Chairman, DLSA Srinagar.

The event was inaugurated by Jawad Ahmed, Chairman, DLSA Srinagar, by planting a sapling of the Deodar plant. Jahangir Ahmed Bakshi, Secretary, DLSA Srinagar; Dr. Touseef Ahmed Bhatt, Chairman of NGO Kashmir Concern, Green Kashmir Revolution, LADCs, and officials of DLSA Srinagar, Law students from Vitasta Law College, who are currently under internship with DLSA Srinagar, also joined the initiative and planted saplings of different plants.

The main purpose of the event was to emphasize the importance of protecting the environment and to inspire individuals to take action towards mitigating the impact of climate change. The plantation drive was a step towards creating a greener and healthier environment for the people of Srinagar.

Speaking on the occasion, Chairman, DLSA Srinagar emphasized the need for collective efforts to protect the environment and promote sustainable development. He appreciated the efforts of DLSA Srinagar and Kashmir Concern to organize the event.

The event was attended by Officials, Legal Aid Defence Counsels, Para Legal Volunteers of DLSA Srinagar and Law students from Vitasta Law College. The plantation drive was a huge success, with a large number of saplings planted during the event.
