DC Kulgam reviews arrangements for Mela Kheer Bhawani

KULGAM: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Athar Aamir Khan, today chaired a meeting of officers to review the arrangements put in place for the smooth conduct of Mela Kheer Bhawani at Kheer Bhawani Asthapan Manzgam and Mata Tripur Sundari Khanbarni, Devsar.

During the meeting, DC reviewed security arrangements, availability of essentials, accommodation facilities, traffic management, medical facilities, sanitation facilities, besides the availability of power and water supply.

While reviewing the preparedness of the concerned departments for the Mela, the DC stressed upon officials to ensure devotees are provided all the requisite facilities for performing religious rituals.

Concerned from KPDCL and Jal Shakti were instructed to provide uninterrupted power and water supply at both the places.

Further, the DC directed officers to maintain close coordination and ensure appropriate arrangements are put in place for the smooth conduct of Mela.

EOs of Municipal Council Kulgam and Municipality Devsar were directed to ensure proper sanitation at both places.

He directed the officers to visit both places and ensure proper arrangements were in place to facilitate smooth and hassle-free celebrations of the festival at both places.

Among others, the meeting was attended by ADDC, Bashir Ahmad Wani; ACD, Syed Naseer; ACP, Nazia Hassan; Executive Engineers of PHE and R&B, Tehsildars of D.H Pora and Devsar, EO and other concerned officers.

Besides, the President and members from Shree Tripur Sundari Sanastha and Kheer Bhawani Ashthapan Manzgam attended the meeting.
