Srinagar: Police have arrested a drug peddler in Baramulla and recovered contraband substance from his possession, a police spokesperson informed Sunday.
He said at a checkpoint at Wanigam Bala, police intercepted and later arrested one Ghulam Hassan Hajam, son of Ali Mohammad of Wanigam Bala, after 12 kgs of green poppy-like contraband substance was recovered from his possession.
A case under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Kreeri and investigation has been initiated.
