Srinagar: Police have booked a “wanted and notorious” drug smuggler under the PIT NDPS Act in Handwara, a police spokesperson informed Thursday.
He said Parvaiz Ahmad Shah, son of Mohammad Subhan Shah of Kralgund Qaziabad has been booked under the PIT-NDPS Act after obtaining formal detention orders from the competent authority, and subsequently lodged in Central Jail Kot-Bhalwal Jammu.
Police said many cases are registered against him and that he was involved in promoting the “drug abuse trade” by supplying drugs to local youth and other areas of the district.
