Jammu: Rattan Lal Gupta, Provincial President of the National Conference on Monday said that widespread turnout at the party’s election rallies especially that of NC President, Dr Farooq Abdullah and Mian Altaf Ahmed is a testament to its enduring influence and resonant appeal among the masses of the region.

Speaking after concluding a week-long tour of Rajouri and Poonch districts in connection with the election campaign of India alliance Candidate Anantnag-Rajouri Mian Altaf Ahmed, the NC Senior leader said that the recent surge in massive public rallies at Surankote, Poonch, Mendhar, Rajouri and Nowshera across Poonch and Rajouri Districts has underscored the significant backing for the NC Candidate.

He said that these large gatherings, characterized by enthusiastic participation, reflect the deep-rooted support for the party among different hamlets situated both in the mountainous regions and in the plains of the aforesaid districts. He said that these successful rallies highlight the party’s ability to mobilize and galvanize the public, reinforcing its position as a formidable force in J&K’s political arena.

Rattan Lal Gupta said that there is no competition for the party in the Anantnag-Rajouri seat as there is a huge NC wave and people are wholeheartedly supporting party candidate Mian Altaf.

Taking a jibe, he said that BJP, which claims to be the world’s largest political party failed to field its candidates in Kashmir Valley. He said that the BJP with no candidates in the field is supporting its proxy candidate having no credibility or relevance in the political landscape. He said that BJP’s failed policies in J&K during the last ten years of its misrule had led to a situation where there are no takers for the saffron party.

Rattan Lal accused the BJP of becoming a factor in the revival of terrorism in Rajouri and Poonch districts, rising unemployment, high inflation and rampant corruption. He also condemned the stabbing of youth during the rally and demanded a thorough probe into the incident.

The Provincial President appealed to the people of Rajouri and Poonch districts to ensure maximum participation in the polling on May 25 and ensure the victory of NC candidate Mian Altaf Ahmed to get rid of the misrule of the BJP.
