Bollywood returns to Srinagar: #SinghamAgain shoots action scene at iconic Lal Chowk
FacebookTwitterWhatsapp

Srinagar: Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, is abuzz with excitement as the crew of #SinghamAgain takes over the iconic Lal Chowk to shoot an action-packed scene. This marks a significant moment in the valley’s cinematic history, being the first major film shoot in the region since the abrogation of Article 370 four years ago.
The shoot at Lal Chowk, a symbol of the city’s rich heritage, highlights the region’s resurgence as a film destination. Over the past four years, Jammu and Kashmir has witnessed a remarkable increase in film shoots, with more than 300 films being produced in the region. This resurgence is largely credited to the efforts of the JK Government to revitalize the film industry, including the launch of the new film policy in 2024, which builds upon the JK Film Policy 2021. The updated policy aims to simplify procedures, making it easier for filmmakers to bring their projects to the valley.
The return of Bollywood to Srinagar is a welcome sign of peace and normalcy. Cinema halls are reopening, drawing eager audiences and reaffirming the region’s potential as a premier filming location. #SinghamAgain, an eagerly anticipated Bollywood film, is leading this revival. The crew is working tirelessly to capture the essence of Srinagar’s vibrant culture and stunning landscapes.
The presence of #SinghamAgain in the valley is expected to provide a significant boost to local talent and offer a platform for regional stories to be told on a national stage. This film’s production in Srinagar is not just a cinematic event but a symbol of the region’s renewed vigor and potential.
As cameras roll and the action unfolds, Srinagar is once again the centre of cinematic excitement, heralding a new era in Jammu and Kashmir’s film industry. The scene at Lal Chowk is more than just a movie shoot; it is a testament to the enduring appeal and rich cultural tapestry of the valley.
