Asks for updation of progress on BADP Online Management System

SRINAGAR: Secretary of the Planning Development & Monitoring Department, Aijaz Asad today chaired a meeting at the Civil Secretariat here to review the progress under the Border Area Development Programme (BADP).

The Secretary reviewed the physical and financial progress achieved under the ambitious programme in the border districts of J&K. The districts include Jammu, Samba, Kathua, Poonch, Rajouri Baramulla, Bandipora and Kupwara.

He had exhaustive interaction with each of the District Development Commissioners regarding the implementation status of the Scheme in their respective districts.

While reviewing the functioning of BADP, the Secretary emphasised upon updation of physical/financial progress on the BADP Online Management System in line with actual figures within the stipulated time.

The Secretary exhorted upon all stakeholders to work in tandem so that desired targets under the Border Area Development Programme are achieved in time. He asked the District Development Commissioners to ensure full utilization of funds available with the districts, besides completion of all the ongoing works implemented by the district authorities under BADP. He said that all ongoing works have to be taken to the end point within the set timelines.

While reviewing the financial progress, the concerned DCs were asked to submit Utilization Certificates (UCs) against the funds utilized during 2023-24. They were also asked for submission of Red Accounts against the funds utilized during 2022-23 & 2023-24.
