Review election preparedness, inspect arrangements in DCRCs

SHOPIAN: The General Observer for Srinagar Parliamentary Constituency (PC), Mukul Kumar and Police Observer, Sandeep Singh Chauhan today visited Shopian, where they reviewed the preparations of the administration for the conduct of elections to Srinagar Parliamentary Constituency.

At the outset, Observers held a joint meeting with the Nodal Officers to review the preparedness for Lok Sabha Elections-2024 in the district wherein a threadbare discussion on vital matters was held.

The meeting was attended by District Election Officer, Faz Lul Haseeb; SSP, Tanushree; ADDC, Dr.Nasir Ahmad Lone, ARO Shopian and other Nodal Officers.

The District Election Officer through PPT provided an overview of arrangements including SVEEP activities, Material Management, Manpower Plan, Transport Plan, EVM Management, Training, arrangements at polling stations and Distribution cum Receipt Centres (DCRC), and other measures undertaken for smooth and peaceful conduct of elections in the AC.

Interacting with the Nodal Officers, the Observers stressed for taking measures to increase voter turnout and ensure incident-free and smooth conduct of the Lok Sabha Elections in the district.

It was informed that as many as 99,245 electorates are exercising their franchise in 122 Polling stations of the Shopian Assembly Constituency on May, 13.

Furthermore, the Observers also supervised the 2nd Randomization of Polling Staff.

The Observers also thoroughly reviewed the arrangements at the Dispatch cum Receipt Centres (DCRC). The Nodal Officer briefed the Observers about the arrangements and action plan for dispatching poll parties and election materials to the polling stations.
