JKEDI, Techible ink MoU to nurture entrepreneurship in J&K

Skill training, competitions, hackathons with prizes to be given for innovative ideas

Jammu: Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) and Techible, an innovative startup on Monday entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to give a flip to the entrepreneurial ecosystem of the Union Territory.

The collaboration is geared towards fostering entrepreneurship development and providing high-quality internship and training opportunities through the Summer School Internship Program for the students in Jammu and Kashmir.

The Summer School Internship Program will be conducted at two centres, one in Jammu and the other in Srinagar, catering to school and college students alike. This initiative aims to facilitate intellectual growth, skill development, and industry exposure across various domains such as Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning, Data Science, Web and App Development, IoT and Drones, CAD Modelling, and freelancing skills.

Speaking on the occasion, Director of JKEDI, Rajinder Sharma, expressed his optimism about the collaboration, emphasizing its potential to address the unemployment challenges by providing quality internship and training opportunities.

“I believe this MoU will not only benefit the institute but also contribute to the overall development of the union territory. The program will feature competitions and hackathons with prizes totalling over Rs. One Lakh, providing enrolled students with a platform to showcase their problem-solving skills and innovative ideas,” he said.

Founded by Parmveer Nandal, an alumnus of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Jammu, Techible with the support of JKEDI shall aim at targeting the interns to benefit from a comprehensive program structure that includes theoretical instruction, hands-on training, and mentorship, enabling them to explore interdisciplinary subjects and refine their capabilities in their chosen fields. Additionally, participants will gain exposure to generative AI tools, receive guidance on curriculum vitae building, and access placement assistance to enhance their career prospects.

Through this partnership, JKEDI and Techible aim to empower the youth of Jammu and Kashmir, equipping them with the skills and knowledge necessary to thrive in the rapidly evolving landscape of entrepreneurship and technology.
