RKFC Head Coach nominated as Head Coach of U-16 Indian Team

Srinagar: All India Football Federation Technical Committee has recommended former J&K footballer and Real Kashmir FC head coach Ishfaq Ahmed as head coach for the Under-16 Indian National Football Team.

This will be Ishfaq’s second stint with the U-16 national team. Previously, he was head coach of  the team in July 2023, leading them to a SAFF championship.

The Technical Committee meeting was chaired by IM Vijayan.

As an AFC Pro License coach, Ishfaq Ahmed led the Kashmir-based club Real Kashmir in the recently concluded I-League 2023-24 season. He was focused on assimilating local talent into his starting lineup.

The RKFC management has congratulated Ishfaq for his nomination as head coach for the U-16 Indian national team.

“It is a proud moment for the football lovers of Kashmir. This will inspire youth in Kashmir who are passionate about playing football and making careers in the sport,” the RKFC management said.

Ishfaq Ahmed is an Indian professional football manager and a former player who is the head coach of I-League club Real Kashmir.

He is also a member of the AIFF technical committee. He is considered as one of the most technical strikers in the Indian football. He has represented the country and has played in the I-League and the Indian Super League for several clubs including Dempo, Mohun Bagan, Salgaocar, East Bengal, Mohammedan, Kerala Blasters, Pune F.C, and Mumbai F.C. He has also won the league title while also winning domestic cups such as the Federation Cup and Durand Cup.
