Div Com Jammu, ADGP visit Rajouri, review preparations for elections

RAJOURI: Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Ramesh Kumar and ADGP Jammu, Anand Jain, today undertook a comprehensive visit to district Rajouri to assess preparedness for the Lok Sabha Elections 2024.

The visit aimed at ensuring meticulous planning and execution for the smooth conduct of the democratic process.

A detailed discussion ensued, focusing on different arrangements essential for the seamless execution of the electoral process. Discussions focused on crucial aspects like enforcing the Model Code of Conduct, monitoring expenditures, security arrangements and transportation plans etc.

The officers deliberated on strategies to handle election material efficiently both during and after the elections. Emphasizing the sanctity of the voting process, it was stressed that no photographs should be captured while casting votes, not even by the voters themselves.

The concerned officers were asked to activate Flying Squad Teams, tasked to maintain vigilance and address any electoral malpractices effectively. Furthermore, the Divisional Commissioner stressed on the importance of having a robust evacuation plan in place, with contingencies accounted for, to address any unforeseen circumstances that may arise during the polling process.

He highlighted the significance of punctuality, necessitating meticulous planning and execution to ensure a seamless voting experience for all citizens. Moreover, attention was given to the reception plan, emphasizing the need for its thorough and efficient implementation.

In line with the commitment to uphold the integrity of the electoral process, all stakeholders were directed to discharge their duties with utmost diligence and dedication. The visit concluded with a renewed commitment to uphold the principles of democracy and ensure fair and transparent elections in the Rajouri district.

Among others, IG CRPF; DEO Rajouri, DIG CRPF, SSP, ADDC, Commandant CRPF, Commandant Armed Police; CPO, ACR, Dy DEO, DDE, DIO, CAHO and other concerned officers attended the meeting.
