Srinagar: Police in Shopian have arrested a drug peddler and recovered contraband substance from their possession, a police spokesperson informed.
He said at a checkpoint at Safanagri, police arrested one Imtiyaz Ahmad Dar, son of Ghulam Mohammad Dar of Darbagh, after 20.548 kgs of cannabis concealed in two nylon bags was recovered from his procession.
A case under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Zainapora for further investigation, police said.
