Srinagar: Police in Sopore have booked two “terrorist associates” under the Public Safety Act in Sopore.
The arrested “terrorist associates” have been identified as Ikhlaq Imtiyaz Sheikh, son of Imtiaz Ahmad Sheikh, resident of Watergam, Rafiabad; and Irfan Farooq Zargar, son of Farooq Ahmad Zargar, resident of Soin Sadnar, Rafiabad.
They were detained after getting formal detention orders under the Public Safety Act (PSA) from the competent authority and were subsequently lodged in District Jail Kupwara and District Jail Anantnag.
“These individuals have a history of involvement in anti-national activities, as evidenced by multiple FIRs filed against them. This action has been taken to ensure that they don’t continue to engage in activities detrimental to the state’s security,” police said.
