Bans entry of heavy vehicles in main town during day time
KUPWARA: The Handwara Sub-district administration notified several road stretches in Handwara town as No Parking Zones and also banned entry of heavy vehicles into the main town during the day time.
As per the order issued by Additional Deputy Commissioner Handwara, the roads & stretches declared as no parking zone include JK Bank Branch South to Old Bus Stand Handwara; Main Chowk Handwara to R&B Division Handwara and Main Chowk Handwara to Ishfaq Filling station.
The order has been issued following frequent complaints by visitors that vehicles remain parked on the roads in an unauthorised & disordered manner in Handwara town which causes severe inconvenience to pedestrians and leads to frequent traffic jams.
The administration has directed Executive Officer, MC Handwara to install no parking signboards on these roads.
Furthermore, the entry of heavy vehicles into the main town from sunrise to sunset has also been banned by the administration.
The drivers’ association has been directed to follow the above mentioned order failing which action as warranted under the law shall be taken against offenders.
