Two terrorists killed during foiled infiltration bid in Uri: Officials

Srinagar: Security forces on Friday claimed to have foiled an infiltration bid along the Line of Control in Baramulla district, “killing two terrorists”.

Troops of the army noticed some suspicious movement along the LoC at Sabura Nala Rustam in Uri area of the district and challenged intruders, the officials said.

They said the intruders opened fire which was retaliated by the soldiers, resulting in killing of two terrorists.

Following the encounter, a thorough search operation was conducted in the area, which led to the recovery of warlike stores. Among the seized items were 2 AK series rifles, 4 hand-grenades, and other ammunition and Rs 10,250 Indian currency.

Providing details of the operation, the Chinar Corps tweeted, “Alert troops on LoC foiled an infiltration bid at Sabura Nala, Uri sector where 2 terrorists have been eliminated. 2 AK Rifles, 04 hand grenades and other war-like stores have been recovered.”
