Srinagar: A minor boy drowned to death in the River Jhelum in Bijbehara area of south Kashmir Anantnag district on Wednesday afternoon, officials said.
News agency Kashmir Scroll reported that a six-year-old boy identified as Salil Ahmad Dar, son of Latif Ahmad Dar, resident of Gadhanjipora Bijbehara drowned in the river in his native area.
They said that the boy was evacuated and shifted to SDH Bijbehara where doctors declared him dead.
Police have taken cognizance and started an investigation.
