Srinagar: A minor boy drowned to death in the River Jhelum in Noorbagh area of central Kashmir Srinagar district on Tuesday afternoon, officials said.
News agency Kashmir Scroll reported that a 12-year-old boy identified as Muneer Ahmad Khanday, son of Mohammad Maqbool Khanday, resident of Noorbagh, drowned in the river in his native area.
They said that the boy was retrieved from the river and shifted to SMHS Hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.
Police have taken cognizance and started investigations.
