Srinagar: In response to directives from the Secretary of Health & Medical Education, SKIMS (Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences) is set to revolutionise payment methods across its hospital counters with the introduction of a QR Code System.

The initiative aims to expedite payment processes, enhancing efficiency and convenience for patients navigating the institution’s services. Currently, only one counter in the Outpatient Department (OPD) service area offers online payment through QR codes, alongside a scan and share feature.

The Medical Superintendent of SKIMS confirmed the commencement of the process, involving all stakeholders to ensure QR Code System integration across every counter. This move underscores the institution’s commitment to optimizing patient care services.

SKIMS is gearing up to roll out the QR Code System promptly, further streamlining transactions within the hospital premises. Additionally, SKIMS has already deployed Point of Sale (POS) machines across all cash counters in the OPD and pharmacy sections, facilitating smoother financial transactions for patients and visitors.
