Srinagar: Police have arrested a drug peddler in Qazigund, Kulgam and recovered contraband substance from his possession, a police spokesperson informed Friday.
He said following a specific input, a special checkpoint was set up at Bonigam crossing near NHW Qazigund, and one Maqsood Ahmad Naikoo, son of Sonauallah Naikoo, resident of Nassu Badragund carrying a nylon bag was intercepted. During the search, police recovered four kgs of poppy straw from his possession. He was arrested and a case was registered in this regard.
