PDD lineman dies after falling from electric pole in Budgam

Budgam: A 35-year-old lineman of the Power Development Department (PDD) lost his life after falling from an electric pole while repairing a High Tension (HT) line in the Magam area of Central Kashmir’s Budgam district.

An official said that the incident occurred during routine maintenance work, resulting in severe injuries to the lineman. After the accident, the lineman was immediately rushed to Magam Hospital wherefrom he was referred to SKIMS Soura for advanced treatment where he succumbed to his injuries.

He has been identified as Farooq Ahmad Wani, son of Ghulam Ahmad Wani of Hazarpora Aripanthan Budgam.

Meanwhile, police have taken cognizance of the incident and started further investigation in this regard. (KNO)
