Lok Sabha Elections-2024: Series of activities held under SVEEP at GGHSS Kothibagh, SP MHSS

SRINAGAR: On the directions of the District Election Officer(DEO), Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat, a series of awareness programs were held under the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation program (SVEEP) in various Schools of the District.

The awareness programmes were conducted under the supervision of District Nodal Officer SVEEP, A H Fani during which awareness programmes and rallies were organised at GGHSS Kothibagh and SP Model Higher Secondary School.

Speaking about the ongoing SVEEP activities, the District Election Officer, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat urged the young voters to inspire their families, friends, relatives and neighbours to participate in the upcoming General Elections elections with enthusiasm.

The DEO also emphasized the young voters to play their role as ambassadors of democracy.

He also congratulated and commended the students who will be casting their vote for the first time in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections

The DEO further expressed his admiration for their enthusiasm and commitment to playing an active role in the electoral process. He emphasized the importance of informed decision-making and encouraged them to approach this democratic responsibility with diligence and awareness.

The programmes under SVEEP are aimed at raising awareness among the students about the importance of active participation in general elections with a special emphasis on the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

During the awareness programs, the Nodal Officer SVEEP, A H Fani highlighted the crucial role that every voter plays in shaping the democratic process, urging them to exercise their right to vote.

He also provided important information about the various facilities available in polling booths for persons with disabilities, elders, and women. He emphasized the commitment of election machinery to ensuring a fair and accessible electoral process.

Nodal Officer, SVEEP stressed that these awareness programs will continue, with the goal of reaching every school in District Srinagar to ensure maximum participation in the electoral process.

Following the successful awareness programs, rallies were conducted at GGHSS Kothibagh and SP Higher Secondary School, further reinforcing the importance of voter education and participation in the electoral process.
