Kashmiri Skiers gear up for FIS races in Kazakhstan

Srinagar: A group of six talented skiers from Jammu and Kashmir are poised to make waves on the international stage as they gear up to compete in the prestigious FIS slalom and Giant Slalom events in Almaty, Kazakhstan.

The competitions are scheduled to take place from March 28th to April 4th, 2024.

The lineup features Wasim Ahmad Bhat, Bilal Ahmad Sheikh, Azhar Fayaz, Faizan Lone, Fayaz Hajam, and Sabiya Nabi, all hailing from north Kashmir’s Tangmarg area.

Expressing their excitement for the upcoming challenge, the athletes expressed enthusiasm as they shared their anticipation for the event. “The journey to Kazakhstan signifies more than just a competition; it symbolizes a quest for experience and growth in the realm of ski racing.”
