Baramulla: Police have arrested a drug peddler in Baramulla and recovered contraband substances from his possession.
A police party of Police Station Pattan headed by SHO PS Pattan at a checkpoint established at Chinar Crossing Pattan near Pandav Park, intercepted a person identified as Amjad Wahan Wani son of Ab Wahab resident of Wani Mohalla Machil Kupwara.
During the search, 4 grams of contraband heroin-like substances was recovered from his possession. He has been arrested and shifted to PS Pattan where he remains in custody.
Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Pattan and an investigation has been initiated.
