Strict action against illegal mining to continue: DMO
PULWAMA: The District Mining Officer (DMO), Pulwama along with the enforcement team today conducted a targeted operation against illegal mining in various areas of the district.
The operation was held at the Pampore, Hatiwara, Reshipora and Newa areas of the district, resulting in the seizure of one JCB and 07 vehicles engaged in the unauthorized extraction and transportation of minerals.
Deputy Commissioner, Pulwama has time and again issued unequivocal instructions to prevent and deter illegal mining throughout the District.
Operations against illegal extraction and transportation are being taken regularly by the department and strict action against offenders is initiated to deter them from illegal activity involvement.
