Srinagar: In a bid to streamline the process for students eager to engage in film production activities, the Higher Education (HE) Department of Jammu and Kashmir has issued Circular No: 02-HE of 2024, dated February 17, 2024, directing all universities and colleges in the region to expedite permissions and recommendations for shooting short films and videos.

The circular highlighted the persistent delays faced by students in obtaining necessary approvals from their respective institutions, hindering their creative endeavors. Recognizing the paramount importance of film shooting as a catalyst for multifaceted learning experiences, the directive emphasized the role of such activities in nurturing creativity, fostering collaboration, honing technical skills, stimulating critical thinking, and enhancing career readiness among students.

In accordance with the directive, all universities and colleges across Jammu and Kashmir are mandated to process permission requests from students and other stakeholders promptly, ensuring completion within three days following due verification. To oversee the implementation of this directive and address any related issues or grievances, the Director of Information, J&K, and the Director of Colleges, J&K, have been designated as Nodal Officers.

In instances where difficulties arise concerning film shooting permissions, individuals are encouraged to reach out to the Information Department via email at filmpermissiondipr@gmail.com or by phone at 7889363795. Alternatively, they may contact the Director of Colleges via email at dir.he.jk@gmail.com or by phone at 9469000167.
