SRINAGAR: The Commissioner of Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC), Dr Owais Ahmed, Saturday took an intensive review of the operations and initiatives of the Water Works Division SMC.

The purpose of the review was to assess the Division’s progress in providing water supply and to strategize the effective implementation of future water management in Srinagar City.

During the review, Commissioner SMC emphasized the critical role played by the Water Works Division, SMC to ensure a safe and reliable water supply to the residents of Srinagar. The review also aimed to identify areas for improvement and to devise strategies for enhancing the Division’s efficiency and service delivery mechanism.

Dr. Owais expressed satisfaction with the ongoing efforts of the Water Works Division and commended their dedication to maintaining and upgrading the drinking water-related infrastructure in Srinagar City.

The review also served as a platform to evaluate the impact of existing water supply initiatives and to explore innovative approaches for further improving the City’s water distribution system/network.

Commissioner SMC reiterated the commitment of the Srinagar Municipal Corporation to facilitate the Water Works Division in its endeavours to provide uninterrupted and reliable water supply to the residents of Srinagar.
