ACB registers disproportionate assets cases against two cops

Srinagar: Anti Corruption Bureau has registered cases against Ameet Kumar Koul, Inspector, and Head Constable Rajinder Kumar Sharma for allegedly possessing assets disproportionate to their legal and known sources of income.

In a press release, ACB said a case FIR No.01/2024, under section 13(1) (b) of PC Act 1988 was registered against Inspector (S) Ameet Kumar Koul following the outcome of a secret verification with regard to the allegation that the officer is in possession of disproportionate assets to the known source of his income.

It said case FIR No.02/2024 under section 13(1)(b) r/w 13(2) of PC Act 1988 has also been registered against Head Constable Rajinder Kumar Sharma on the basis of an enquiry conducted into the allegations that the official has raised disproportionate assets to the known sources of his income.

During the investigation, searches were conducted in the residential houses of both the officials and business establishments of HC Rajinder Kumar Sharma. During searches, some incriminating documents and valuables have been seized and taken for investigation purposes.

Further investigation of both the cases is going on, ACB said.
