SRINAGAR: The Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) has reaffirmed its commitment to enhancing cleanliness and sanitation in the city by spearheading a significant cleanliness campaign on Sunday, as part of the “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav” initiative.

Under the supervision of the Chief Sanitation Officer, Zonal Sanitation Officer, Ward Officer, and other Corporation officials, the extensive drive targeted Zone East Ward No. 1 from Shalimar to Harwan Irrigation Nallah and Zone North Ward No. 15 from Old Umerheir Road to Pandach.

The primary objective was to elevate the overall cleanliness and visual appeal of the designated zones by implementing efficient garbage collection and disposal, as well as eradicating unwanted vegetation.

The Srinagar Municipal Corporation is dedicated to fostering a clean and healthier environment for the residents of Srinagar, contributing to the city’s holistic development and well-being.

Through proactive participation in cleanliness initiatives, the SMC aims to cultivate a sense of civic duty among citizens and promote a sustainable and hygienic way of life.
