JKP celebrates 14th National Voters Day across J&K

Jammu: The 14th National Voters Day was celebrated at all the Police establishments across Jammu & Kashmir with concerned police heads administering oaths/pledges to jawans and officers aimed to promote democratic electoral participation. 

The main function was organised at Police Headquarters Jammu where ADGP Armed J&K, S.J.M Gillani administered the pledge to officers and Jawans.

IGP (POS) PHQ, Bhim Sen Tuti, IGP (AP/IR) Jammu Mahendra Nath Tiwari, DIsG Sarah Rizvi, Nisha Nathyal, AIsG of PHQ, SO to ADGP Armed J&K, staff members of PHQ, APHQ and Telecommunication attended the pledge taking function. 

Pledge functions were also held at all the Unit and wing headquarters of J&K Police across the Union Territory which includes Zonal Police Headquarters Jammu/Kashmir, where senior police officers administered the pledge to police officers and jawans. 

National Voters Day was also celebrated at the Police Control Room Jammu/Kashmir, Police Hospitals, railways headquarters, and security headquarters. The respective police heads administered pledges to the officers and Jawans.

As is known, January 25 is celebrated as National Voters Day to commemorate the founding day of the Election Commission of India, which was created on this date in 1950. The first National Voters Day was celebrated on January 25, 2011, and ever since, it has been observed on January 25 with a particular theme. For 2024 the theme was “nothing like voting, I vote for sure”.
