New Delhi: In a remarkable achievement for the Kashmir Valley, Ishfaq Hamid, a thirteen-year-old Rabab virtuoso from Kreeri Baramulla, has been honoured with the prestigious Pradhan Mantri Bal Puraskar Award.

The distinguished accolade was conferred upon him by the President of India, Smt Daroupadi Murmu, during a ceremony held at Vigyan Bhawan on Monday, elevating Ishfaq’s stature and bringing immense pride to the region.

A sixth-standard student, Ishfaq Hamid expressed his heartfelt gratitude towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi for recognizing and appreciating his exceptional talent. His journey into the world of Rabab commenced when he observed his cousin mastering the intricate art, serving as the catalyst for him to embark on his musical odyssey.
